P.A Christmas News

The School Nativity play will be in the Church this Sunday 15^th December at 11.30am – There will be Tea/Coffee and Mince pies/Biscuits served in the hall after the service.

The Annual School Christmas Party will be on Thursday 19^th December from 1pm to 3pm

As with previous years we ask for a voluntary contribution of €4 per child with a Maximum of €10 per family to assist with the costs of the Christmas party.

There will be

Ø  lunch for the children

Ø  followed by some party games

Ø  a visit from Santa with a selection box for all the children

Ø  and a disco to get everyone in the festive mood

Ø  We will have a uniform swap table ( Non-Uniform in school on 18^th, 19^th & 20^th Dec)

Ø  The teachers have been working with the children on a project and they will have a Christmas around the world display in the hall

All parents, grandparents are welcome and if any parent / guardians are available to help on the day we would greatly appreciate it – just let one of the committee know or email us on pastpatricksnstrim@gmail.com

Finally we would like to thank you all, for your continued support and a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year from The PA Committee.     

FOOD APPEAL

With Christmas just around the corner we are hoping you can help support our Food Appeal for the Meath Food Bank.

Cash or Vouchers from any of the Supermarkets are also accepted if easier no amount is too small.

The donations will be distributed by the network of local volunteers that work with this great cause.

All donated food should be non-perishable.

We ask that you kindly deliver your donation to the school on or before Friday 6^th December, as this enables us to deliver to the Meath Food Bank Volunteers in time for them to re-distribute the food in a timely manner to the families they will visit.

Your support and generosity will help many underprivileged families in your local area this Christmas.      

Halloween News from the P.A

 With the Halloween break approaching for the last week of term 21^st to 25^th October please note the below:

•          Mr Larke’s class will be selling raffle tickets at 50c each to be in with a chance to win one of the below Hampers.

These have been generously created and supplied by Marnie McLaughlin, our resident art display specialist.

•       There will also be some other prizes on the day along with a prize for best costume.
•           We will be providing some small treat bags for the children on Friday 25^th which the teachers will hand out. If you have any dietary requirements, please contact the PA at pastpatricksnstrim@gmail.com

Upcoming dates 

Uniform swap on the last day of term 28^th June - No school uniform next week to facilitate swap 

•   Please bring in any uniforms that you no longer need and that are in good condition 
•   Please remove any labels you had on them so they don’t arrive back to you! 
•   We will hold the uniform swap again at the start of September and will post on the blog   details of what we have and sizes

Goodbye 6th class 

• We wish the current 6^th class of Franziska, Holly, Meghan, Conor, Ben & Matthew the very best of luck as they embark upon an exciting new chapter in their lives this autumn. They have been a credit to themselves, their families & their school during their time in St. Patrick’s. Congratulations to them all on making their confirmation last Sunday in St. Patrick’s Cathedral. 
• Below is a throw -back to their first year in the school... 

 New Children 

• We held our open morning for our new entrants recently. We have three children joining in junior infants, one in seniors & two other children from the same family joining both our middle & senior rooms respectively. With six sixth class leavers, our enrolment will remain at 60 for the coming school year.  
• Ms. Ibs is taking a career break for the coming school year. Ms. Kilrane returns in September following her maternity leave. Many thanks to Ms. Grisewood & Ms. O’Brien for all their hard work in the school & we wish them well in their future careers. 

Keep reading over the Summer! 

•  It is essential that children be encouraged to continue to read over the summer holidays. Reading for pleasure not only improves reading but also increases vocabulary & helps so much in creative writing. Trim Library are running the ‘Summer Stars’ programme again this summer & we would encourage you to get your children involved. 

 New Sports Equipment 

• The Active school committee have purchased two new sets of goalposts for our two pitches (with the €1000 the school won for the ‘Moo Crew’ competition) 
• Don’t forget all children will receive free milk next year! 
• We have also bought some lovely outdoor educational posters which will be placed around the school over the summer months. 
• Our polytunnel was erected today! Many thanks to all for your generous contributions.
